Come As You Are

We are singing this song in choir right now and it speaks to my heart every time we sing it. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t need to hear this message. I am so very thankful that God accepts me just as I am – with all of my wrong choices, all of my broken pieces, and all of my shameful scars! Every time Satan attacks with guilt or regret I fight back with this promise. We can come as we are!

Come as You Are (by Pocket Full of Rocks)

He’s not mad at you
And He’s not disappointed
His grace is greater still
Than all of your wrong choices

He is full of mercy
And He is ever kind
Hear His invitation
His arms are open wide

You can come as you are
With all your broken pieces
And all your shameful scars
The pain you hold in your heart,
Bring it all to Jesus
You can come as you are

Louder than the voice
That whispers you’re unworthy
Hear the sound of love
That tells a different story
Shattering your darkness
And pushing through the lies
How tenderly He calls you
His arms are open wide

You can come as you are
With all your broken pieces
And all your shameful scars
The pain you hold in your heart,
You bring it all to Jesus
You can come as you are
You can come as you are

You can come as you are
With all your broken pieces
And all your shameful scars
The pain you hold in your heart,
You bring it all to Jesus
You can come as you are

Blessings!

Love! As so often happens, you hit the nail on the head and gave me a wonderful reminder that never grows old or trite. I am overwhelmed by His love for me. Me. And I ask why does he love me? But I don’t need to know why…I just know that he does.

Thanks for sharing this with us Cathy! My niece’s told me they (their youth group) did a skit of some sort to this song on easter where they each wrote different testimonies or things they were bringing to the Lord on paper and at the end, they held all the papers in a way that formed a cross!
